Overview
Ethylene acrylate keeps much of polyacrylate's heat and oil ageing performance while extending low-temperature flexibility to around −40 °C. It is widely used in automotive powertrain and coolant applications where both heat resistance and cold flexibility are required.
Strengths
- • Wider temperature range than ACM, down to about −40 °C
- • Good heat ageing to +150 °C
- • Good ozone, weather and coolant resistance
- • Retains flexibility in cold automotive service
Limitations
- • Oil resistance below NBR and ACM in aggressive oils
- • Not suitable for fuels or aromatic hydrocarbons
- • Poor with strong acids and bases
- • Not suitable for glycol brake fluid
